Week Two.

The semester is still just starting as it is only week two.
However, I have already started quite a lot! My repurpose/ rethink project actually took a new turn. I figured out how to cut glass bottles. Let me tell you it was
pretty hard to figure it out. For starters the glass cutter I bought myself broke within 10 minutes of buying it (don't opt for the cheap one). So one of the professors at school who has a glass cutter lent me one of hers. To cut glass one has to use the glass cutter to make an incision into the glass, and then sock the glass by pouring boiling water and then cold water on the incision. After using that the borrowed glass cutter it still wasn't working. However, I found out that it was not working because my hot water was not hot enough. So once I got hotter water it started to work. They are not the cleanest cuts, but it is working now.
This summer I took a mold making class, and found out I really love making molds. So this semester I want to make a mold of scales, and introduce something new to my body of work. So this week I made the mold of a scale I bought at the goodwill for $2. Next week I need to make a mold of the feet for the scales, and make my casting slip for the very first time.
